Actions

Many manufacturers give directions regarding the actions of the rods they produce according to a classic pattern that can be traced synthetically and historically to three different types: POINTING ACTION, PROGRESSIVE ACTION, PARABOLIC ACTION.

We do not follow this classification.

We consider it outdated and inaccurate.
We prefer to talk about the action of each individual rod understood as the action "of and in" fishing, we call such action FISHING ACTION

Within each of our rod series, we offer different lengths and different silk fly lines.

Each is designed to have its own precise and defined action.

Going into detail in a slightly more technical way,we can say that all the rods we produce have progressive action but with different degrees of rapidity. Rapidity, as is well known, is the time it takes the rod to return to the straight position from the flexed position. It varies because of the curvature of the barrel, the materials and its length.
All of our barrels have a rapidity designed to achieve the best performance in accuracy and distance, and to achieve this we have varied the curve because of, primarily, their length.

For example, within the same series,a 9' rod will have an action that is more displaced toward the tip and thus a faster action than a 6' 6' rod, which moreover will be perceived as faster given the lower inertia and smaller arc of flexion.

Our fishing actions

Action definitely shifted toward the tip with heel intervention only when highly stressed. The rod will produce rather tight loops on short and medium casts while these will tend to open up due to overloading of the selvedge on medium to long casts, which can only be done, with the use of the double pull.

The curvature , affects, initially, the upper part of the rod until it affects, in an increasingly marked manner, the heel as well and will be able to support in vaulting a fair length of tail without traction. It will form tight loops on short and medium casts, proving very performant on long casts where, with good loop control, the power reserve of the heel can be exploited.

The heel flexes progressively as stresses increase. Excellent vaulting ability and fair performance in distance where the loop tends to open. Increased sensitivity and pleasantness in fishing but also the need for increased timing.

The whole rod works harmoniously and we might, improperly, call it parabolic given the kind of curve it takes when fully stressed. Low in fatigue it is able to facilitate vaulting without traction as long as the timing is strictly adhered to. Over long distances it requires perfect control of the thrust in order to avoid the lowering of the selvedge and the consequent opening of the loop.

Rods

A revolutionary and exclusive technology of ours, which is based on an innovative method of making the assembly of high-modulus prepreg fabrics with new support materials.

This production process performed with new thermoplastic resins gives the product the following characteristics:

  • 30 - 40 % weight savings, depending on versions and lengths
  • Increased resistance
  • Reduced diameters
  • Reduced thicknesses
  • Pairings of absolute precision
  • Unique profile and taper

the advantages are:

  • Total responsiveness in the momentum
  • Total utilization of launch energy
  • Total sensitivity on the ferrata
  • Extreme delicacy at the capture stage

All of our rods use this technology with the exception of the EASYCAST series and the ALBACORE sea specialist.

A widely proven "commercial" type composite with a lower modulus is used. This production process together with profiles of our exclusive design give the following characteristics.

  • Weight: best in class
  • Lower thicknesses
  • Great resistance
  • Accuracy in couplings
  • Unique profile and taper

the advantages are:

  • Multi-purpose performance: simple for starters, satisfactory even for the expert
  • Good responsiveness of the momentum
  • Excellent utilization of launch energy
  • Excellent sensitivity on the ferrata
  • Great delicacy in the capture stage

The EASYCAST series uses this technology

Bamboo rods

Our experience in making bamboo rods began over 40 years ago. All of our rods are made entirely by hand from the finest bamboo.
Expertly
selected, seasoned, worked, and assembled to create true jewels.
They are unique pieces, customizable in lengths and actions, grip, choice of focus, components and supplied with the customer's name.
They are supplied with double selvedge and leather-finished tube.

Handles

Our handles are made from the best cork available in the world: Portuguese pink cork. What's more, we use washers that are only 5 millimeters thick in some cases.

In this way we can ensure priceless aesthetics, unique tactility, perfect functionality, exceptional durability.

We have different handle shapes that we have matched in the most correct way, based on our long experience, to each individual rod, to create an even better performing, pleasant and comfortable tool.

In the section customizations you can choose our offer.

Inserts

Reel seat inserts are made of genuine, high-quality briarwood.
They are machined from solid, checked one by one before being fitted to our rods.

Different types of briars are available: ERICA ARBOREA, TUIA.

The use of selected material and obsessive care ensure an exclusive, elite aesthetic as well as unique durability.
Shapes and lengths vary from barrel to barrel.

Legendary are our exclusive TLT handle for rods up to 7' 6" and our revolutionary and proven anatomical handle.

Remarkably ergonomic, it offers great performance in executions of wrist-rotation throws, such as curves and undercurves, as well as providing significant energy savings.

In the MITIX series, in the shorter versions, the inserts are made of birch wood and for the longer ones of woven graphite.

In the section customizations you can choose our offer.

Reelstocks

Classically designed, elegant, lightweight, they ensure reliability and durability.

Depending on the rod series, the aluminum is treated and anodized in different ways. In some cases we use components made from brass rod with silver bath and for the "elite" series in gold bath.

Rings

On our rods we use the best the market can currently offer.

Serpentine seymo and tich monopods with titanium coating.

Maximum lightness, durability, smoothness.

The choice between monopod and serpentine is dictated solely by the type of blank action, length, and type of tail supported.

We do not give alternative or customization options: after extensive testing, we have found the best solution for you.

Silk Fly lines

Our silk fly lines reflect our casting and fishing philosophy. They are made in the United States by one of the best and most well-known manufacturers in the world. They are made with a profile designed by us and enhance the characteristics of our rods.

Each of our tails, before being marketed, must also pass stringent tests in fishing in all weather conditions.

As fishermen that we are, we know the fundamental importance of this tool.

Under products you can find our range of offerings.

Reels

Our fishing philosophy is also reflected in our reel production.

We believe that for light fishing, the most suitable characteristics of our reel should be light weight and reliability.

We find these advantages again in the Pozò series, which we designed and produced entirely in Italy: madefrom an aeronautical-derived alloy machined from solid and matte anodized anti-reflection.

For those who are accustomed to and demand an extremely effective clutch, we offer the POLO series, for silk fly lines from 2 to 11, with a consequent increase in weight, compared to the Pozò series.

For those looking for a clutch with a wide range of adjustments, we offer the MIDY series, a product with an extremely advantageous price-performance ratio.

Finally, for those who are starting out or for those who consider the reel to be a simple line winder with a clutch, we offer the economic series, for silk fly lines 3 to 6, made of injection-molded composite plastic fibers.
